According to a recent Stanford University study, dancing, above all other tested activities results in prolonged cognitive retention and reduced chance for conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The study assumes that because of the split-second decision making and use of combinations of brain functions at once, dancing is a great conduit of neuroplasticity.

The study was conducted over 21 years with a goal to test whether physical activity actually did affect mental ability. Dancing was found to increase mental ability by 71%.
